The Earned Income Credit (EIC) is a special tax benefit for workers earning low or moderate incomes. If eligible, a worker can get back some or all of the federal income tax that was taken out of his or her paycheck and may even get extra cash back from the federal government. A garnishment is a writ (a court order) issued to collect a money judgment. General information about garnishments can be obtained by clicking on the link above.
