Gulfcoast Legal Services offers assistance in its Clearwater and St. Petersburg offices to people seeking help with SSI (Supplemental Security Income). If you have applied for SSI and have been denied and live in Pinellas County please call for assistance. We also help with applications for unemployment assistance, food stamps and the cash assistance program. If you live in Pinellas County, have been denied assistance with one of these programs please call for assistance The number to call is 727-443-0657 for the Clearwater office and 727-821-0726 for the St. Petersburg office.

     Gulfcoast Legal Services is proud of its Homeless Outreach Project. As part of this Project a GLS attorney visits shelters, soup kitchens One Stop and Pinellas HOPE (tent city) to assist with SSI , Food Stamps and medical care. GLS is often able to help the homeless get back on their feet by obtaining SSI and other benefits.

GLS Low Income Taxpayer Clinic represents low income taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service, assist taxpayers in audits, appeals and collection disputes and can help taxpayers respond to IRS notices and to correct account problems.

If you are a low income taxpayer who cannot afford professional tax assistance or if you speak English as a second language (ESL) and need help understanding your tax rights and responsibilities, you may qualify for help from the GLS LITC that provides free or nominal cost assistance.  CALL 1-800-230-5920 for assistance.
